CINCINNATI, Ohio (October 7, 2026) — Patrick Novecosky was a guest this afternoon on Driving Home the Faith on Sacred Heart Radio in Cincinnati, where he joined host Dr. Ken Craycraft to discuss his new book, Icons of Mercy: The Faith, Friendship, and Legacy of John Paul II and Mother Teresa.
During the conversation, Patrick shared stories from his personal encounters with Pope St. John Paul II and Sister Nirmala, Mother Teresa’s successor as superior general of the Missionaries of Charity. Those meetings helped deepen his fascination with the extraordinary lives and spiritual legacy of John Paul II and Mother Teresa and eventually inspired him to tell their intertwined story.
In Icons of Mercy, Patrick explores how these two remarkable saints helped shape the modern Church and the world through their witness to mercy, human dignity, courage, and faith. As he told listeners, John Paul II and Mother Teresa were two towering figures who “bent history in the direction of Jesus Christ and the Church He founded.”
