NEW YORK (February 24, 2025) —  Patrick Novecosky discussed Pope Francis’ failing health this evening with host Rick Leventhal on Newsmax’s The Leventhal Report. They were joined by New York priest, Father Seán Connolly.

Leventhal asked Novecosky about the mood at the Vatican. “Any time a pope is ill, or suffering, or dying, there’s an air of reverence; there’s an air of respect for the office of the Chair of Peter, which we just celebrated in the Catholic Church,” Novecosky said. “With Lent coming up, it lends extra significance to what we’re going through, to what the Pope is going through.”

Novecosky also commented on his opportunity to make Pope Francis laugh out loud when they met in 2016.
