NEW YORK (December 19, 2023) — Patrick Novecosky was a guest on Newsmax TV‘s Greg Kelly Reports on Monday night — and Rob Schmitt Tonight on Tuesday evening — to discuss the Vatican’s new Declaration entitled Fiducia Supplicans: On the Pastoral Meaning of Blessings, which was released Monday morning in Rome.

Fiducia Supplicans delares that the Church will allow “spontaneous” pastoral blessings for “same-sex couples” and other couples in “irregular situations.”

The document, Novecosky told Greg Kelly Monday night, “blurs the lines on what, really, is morally licit.”

The open question is how the document will be enforced, he continued. “There are bishops who have allowed sacramental same-sex blessings for years, and the Vatican has not cracked down on them. This document says, ‘No, you can’t do that.’ Is the Vatican going to reach out to the German bishops, the Belgian bishops and say, ‘You need to stop this?'”

Novecosky told Rob Schmitt on Tuesday that “faithful Catholics are really concerned about this papacy and some of the things coming out of the Vatican these days, particularly this dysfunctional document.”
