NEW YORK (January 7, 2023) — Patrick Novecosky was a guest on Newsmax TV‘s The Count this evening with host Logan Ratick. They discussed Pope Emeritus Benedict’s life and legacy.
“Pope Benedict was a gentle soul,” Novecosky said. “He was a towering intellect the likes of which the Catholic Church hasn’t seen in probably a thousand years. He teamed up with John Paul II, another towering intellect. You get this brilliant philosopher — John Paul II — with a dynamic, amazing theologian — Cardinal Ratzinger. You put them together from 1982 to 2005, and then Ratzinger takes over as pope for eight years.”
Ratick also asked Novecosky about Benedict’s supporters saying Pope Francis failed to adequately honor his predecessor in his funeral homily.
