FALLS CHURCH, Virginia (October 6, 2026) — Patrick Novecosky recently joined host Lois Lindstrom on The Bookman’s Corner for a wide-ranging conversation about his 2020 book, 100 Ways John Paul II Changed the World.

The interview explored many of the defining moments and themes of St. John Paul II’s remarkable pontificate, including his historic travels around the globe, the 1981 assassination attempt, and his deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Lindstrom and Novecosky also discussed some of the more difficult chapters in the modern Church, including the clergy sexual abuse crisis. Novecosky addressed the reforms implemented in response to the crisis and discussed what he sees as the role homosexual networks within the priesthood played in most of the abuse cases.

The conversation also turned to John Paul II’s friendship and partnership with President Ronald Reagan and the important role both men played in confronting Soviet communism and helping bring about its collapse in Eastern Europe.

The program aired on community television in Northern Virginia in October and offered viewers a look at the extraordinary impact John Paul II had not only on the Catholic Church, but on the political and cultural history of the 20th century. Author-signed copies of the book are here.
