NEW YORK (September 5, 2025) —  Patrick Novecosky discussed Pope Leo XIV’s upcoming canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati with Newsmax hosts Emma Rechenberg and Shaun Kraisman on National Report. Also on the panel was Fr. Patrick Flanagan.

Kraisman asked Novecosky about Carlo Acutis, and Novecosky noted that both Acutis and Frassati ”came from wealthy families, both of them had an extraordinary gift for reaching out to the poor, … and both of them were for Jesus Christ and His Church and also for those who were marginalized.”

Novecosky noted that Acutis spent the last summer of his life creating a website on Eucharistic miracles. “He poured himself out for the Church and for others,” he said. “We have to remember that canonization is simply the recognition that this individual is in heaven with Our Lord Jesus Christ. We’re not making a saint. We’re just recognizing the reality that he has achieved heaven.”
